NOTICE: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, while inspired by and containing music from the Disney animated movie from 1996, has been expanded with more references from the original Victor Hugo novel and focusing on more of the mature themes and references in his book. This production includes Hugo’s original designation of the culturally Romani peoples as fantastical versions known as “gypsies” and will utilize language and representation that some may find culturally insensitive. This story addresses issues in all strata of French society of the period from the upper echelons to the workers of the street it’s underworld. As such persons under the age of 18 – or those with personal or moral objections to such content – are discouraged from auditioning for their protection, and the well-being of the cast and rehearsal process.
